A Celebration of Ritmos y Reverb
Rio Duende is electric jazz channeled by composer/guitarista Geoffrey Escandon, a west coast conjurer with a pixilated plectrum. Performances are a zesty blend of choice jazz and classic poprock instrumentals. With fine tonality and chromatic wit, Geoffrey's sound calls out to the spirits, magic and fire. Listen...
Rio Duende is brought to life with Gary Parra on traps. Gary is a veteran drummer of the legendary group Cartoon, and has over 35 years of creativity in jazz and rock under his belt. With his own groups (Cartoon, PFS, Trap) and as a guest in the worlds of progressive rock, Gary's work has been described as adventurous, incredible, and Highly Recommended.
The sound of Rio Duende is completed by David Debonis on electric bass. Ever the connisseur of fine lines, David has been playing bass in Albuquerque since selecting his Alembic Spoiler in 1982. David's musical history includes The Angry Babies, The Chesterfields, and other post-tonal theories. Today David may also be found around town with the Strawberry Zots.
